Do you want to be a domestic abuse champion?

Multi agency working is the key to providing and effective, consistent and comprehensive service provision for those suffering from domestic abuse. Working in this way increase identification of domestic abuse and reduces both the proportion of repeat incidents and the impact on those experiencing domestic abuse.

As a domestic abuse champion you would be able to pro-actively help draw your agency and others together. Being a domestic abuse champion for your organisation you will:

  • - Be the Domestic Violence specialist for your own organisation or service area
  • - Be the link between your organisation or service area and other organisation or service area
  • - Be the representative for your or organisation or service are on the domestic violence countrywide forum
  • - Help deliver the countrywide domestic abuse strategy
  • - Help to cascaded training throughout your organisation / service area
In being a domestic abuse champion you will receive support from the County councils domestic abuse coordinator who will:
  • - Be an available resource for any issues that come up
  • - Organise regular Champion meetings where you can meet and network with other champions
  • - Regular newsletters updating you with what is happening within the field of domestic abuse
  • - Access to training
